Shirley is a production weaver, teacher and retailer. Her woven shawls, shrugs, turned shawls, ponchos, scarves, tea towels, hand towels, table linens, rugs, baby blankets, and tartans can be found in Indonesia, Britain, Switzerland, Amsterdam, New York City and at Northern Watters in Charlottetown, PEI. She was awarded an Ontario Handweavers and Spinners Scholarship in 1997.
Many of Shirley's creations are one of a kind, including a piece created for the Museum of Grand Manan Island in New Brunswick. Fulfilling her dreams to be a teacher Shirley has taught weaving to many adults as well as children ages six to fourteen including over 90 students from grades one through eight at local schools. A weaver for almost 30 years, Shirley and her husband have lived in the Madawaska valley since 1997. Custom orders are welcome |
